Oak Swell Front Chiffonier

This fine old piece came in with a bright, sparkling, fresh coat of white paint. I could still smell the newness as it hadn't yet completely hardened.

Due to a technological malfunction, I am unable to show you the multiple layers of pink and gray paint that was laying underneath the white. Trust me, it was ugly! Fortunately, all the paint had been applied over the original lacquer so stripping was not bad at all.

If you look closely, you can see where I repaired the veneer on the bottom of the face on both of the small side drawers. The drawer fronts had been broken at some time and close grained pine had been laid in. This is probably why the piece was painted, and given the color choices it was most likely for a young girl's bedroom.

These were once the pride of any gentleman's dressing suite. Ah, for the days of paper collars and cuff links. As you can see, this old gentleman cleaned up nicely and made for a very happy customer.
